Marton Locks Our windlass (tool used to raise and lower the paddles at left) sits on the beam used to open and close the gates to the lock. The windlass is kept on the boat and is also used to raise and lower the lift bridges we encountered. At this point, Steve is ready to open the gate and drive out. |
