(Rubgy to Napton)
Summer sunsets in England go on forever. At this time of year, there would be light outside until almost 10:30. It seemed the sun didn't so much set as it did sort of "slide along the horizon." On this day, we cruised late and by the time we arrived at Napton, most of the moorings were taken. Going beyond bridge 113 would necessitate going up through the locks, so we needed to moor before the bridge. I should have pulled over before Napton. As it turned out, there was one place left just before the waterpoint at bridge 113. (We were moored slightly into the waterpoint). This photo makes it appear darker than it was in reality, but I love the image Kyle got from on top of the boat. Our first day on the boat saw only three locks at Hillmorton. We were about to do many more in the coming days.
