DAY 4: THURSDAY, JUNE 23, 2005
(Aynho Wharf to Tackley Area)

Our mooring spot for the evening. Pearson's "Canal Companion" showed this to be a former quarry. Kyle liked this spot. He took off with the camera and we didn't see him for awhile. The "guide" also show this to be the location of an old Roman Road called "Akeman Street." This day saw few locks and only 10 miles of distance covered, thanks to a long stop in Lower Heyford for an afternoon nap. This mooring place was much quieter than our mooring spot the night before at Aynho Wharf. The canal had meandered away from the train line here and we enjoyed a very peaceful night of sleep.

DAY 4 TOTALS:
- 5 Locks
- 10 miles
