As part of our Tolkien Tour in Oxford, we stopped at the Eagle and Child pub. Tolkien, C.S.Lewis and other friends formed a group called the Inklings. They met here on a regular basis and would share passages from their most recent works. The group referred to this place not as the Eagle and Child, but as the Bird and Baby.
