DAY 8: MONDAY, JUNE 27, 2005
(North of Somerton to Cropredy)

Passing through Banbury again, here's another view of Tooley's Historic Boatyard. Tom Rolt's book, "Narrowboat", was more than just a book about canals, it was an indictment of modern big city society and lamented the loss of English country heritage and culture in the name of "progress." Canal enthusiasts make a pilgrimage to this place to see where the canal revival all began. Today, there are more than 2,000 miles of navigable waterways in England, and more miles are being added every year. This is where it all began.
