(Cropredy to Stockton)
This would be the canal equivalent of a double tractor-trailer rig. The boat in front is a hotel narrowboat and the boat behind is a being hauled, with another steerer at the back of that boat. I took this photo while moored at the wharf at Fenny Compton for a D-I-Y "pump out." (No details forthcoming). The boat being hauled is called a "butty" and it's said that the term "buddy" comes from the canal practice of pairing a powered boat with an unpowered boat.
