The Braunston Marina Shop would be a good place to stop for boat supplies. The boats on the right of the photo are for sale. Depending on the size, year and condition, one could buy a narrowboat for anywhere between £20,000 and £80,000. Another popular option was a narrowboat share scheme where people buy a fractional share of the boat and get some number of weeks on the boat per year. We actually talked to some people who would have been happy to sell us their share. We get the impression boat timeshares are much like condominium timeshares with lots of people buying and happily selling.
